Littlehampton Swimming Club is run entirely by volunteer parents/carers of our swimmers.
So could you be our next volunteer, supporting your swimmers in their chosen sport?
We’re always looking for skills to strengthen the team. There are many roles you can get involved with. Parents of our younger swimmers might like to start slowly by shadowing a key role so that you can learn the ropes and decide if you’d like to take over the role when the current volunteer steps down.
Any time you can provide is welcome and you can give as much as you can spare. The more volunteers we have the lighter the work load for everyone. Please speak to our Help Desk on a Club night they will point you in the right direction. Alternatively you can fill in our Volunteer Expression of Interest Form
Volunteer for the Coaching Team
Volunteer as a Team Manager
When it comes to competition we need volunteers to support these events. Firstly an External Gala Secretary to administer entries. We need Team Managers around the pool. The Masters Co-ordinator manages the Masters swimmers while the younger squads are headed up by our Club Captains.
Volunteer to Help with our Competitive Swim Meets
Our Internal Gala Secretary arranges our calendar of internal Club Galas, our open meets and any Team Galas that we host. Then, with a Meet Manager, organises and manages the operations of each event. At our meets we need Blue Shirts and qualified officials in White Shirts. Our Workforce Coordinator, External Gala Secretary of our Referee, Mark Savill, can give you more advise about becoming an official. We will fund training required to undertake officiating roles.
Help with Social, the Shop, Trophies and Awards
Our Social Secretary organises fun events for everyone. Our Trophy Secretary looks after the club’s trophies awarded at the Awards Night, which the Social Secretary organises. While our LSC Kit is purchased and sold by our Swim Shop Manager. We even need someone to order ASA Award Badges & Certificates
Streamline the Club’s Internal and External Communications
Members need to Stay Informed so we need a Newsletter Editor and Website Editor. We keep non-members informed about the club through a Press Liaison Officer and looking for imaginative ways to support the club financially is the role of our Fundraiser.
