Congratulations to all of our swimmers who competed in our Club Championship Gala last Sunday.

It was a busy one with around 75 swimmers taking part and being a one day meet gave our youngest swimmers a taste of what an open meet might be like. A fun day, though rain at lunchtime forced us indoors for our ‘picnic’ this year!

Many swimmers gained or improved their Winter County Competition Qualifying times. Notably all who completed the 200 fly achieved county times! Many more swimmers achieved good PBs. There were some Club Records too, so remember to check your results against the here: https://www.littlehamptonswimmingclub.com/about_lsc/records/

It was particularly enjoyable to see some of our new younger swimmers take part for the first time, as well as others tackling events they had not swum before.

Being a licensed meet there were of course some disqualifications. This is part of the learning process – and there is so much for our youngest swimmers to learn and remember when they first start out. but I am so proud that they all took part and did their best!

It was great to see older swimmers supporting the younger ones, so I must share this:

A huge thank you to our many lovely helpers! These included some new Timekeepers and Judge 1 trainees….. but we need more! So if anyone is interested in signing up please speak to our chairman Tim!

We hope you all enjoyed the day as much as we did!
