Great results for our swimmers at the hot and busy Atlantis Summer Splash meet last weekend! 20 Littlehampton swimmers competed, with new PBs from nearly everyone, along with new and improved Winter County times. It was good to see some swimmers tackle some tough events too.

10 year old Holly Brockwell practised her 400 IM and swam a brilliant 6.43.92, 17 seconds faster than her last practice swim and winning Gold! Holly also gained her 100 breast time

Whilst 12 year old Daniel Fernandes swam a PB in his 200 fly also winning Gold! An almost 3 second PB saw Bronze in his 100 fly.

Darragh McSporran won Gold in both the 13yr boys 50 fly and 100 breast, and Silver in the 200 breast with a massive 6.5 second PB.

Ashton Netherwood won Gold in the 9 yr boys 200 free (with a 12 second PB!) and 100 back, and Silver in the 50 fly. Ashton swam winter county times too, but is still too young to take part in that competition!

Archie Strowger did the double winning both the 14yr boys 200 back and 200 fly with good PBs. His backstroke was a 6 second PB and new Winter County time.

Max Williams won Silver in the 10yr boys 100 IM, whilst Oliver Napier won Bronze in the 9yr boys 100 IM.

There were plenty of improved winter county times too, with several new ones.

10 year old Kitty Hogg won Silver in her 100 back with a new Winter County Time and Bronze in her 50 free.

Ella Napier achieved her 200 free Winter County time.

Big PBs didn’t just come from medal winners though. Ethan Lecuyer swam a 6.7 second PB in his 100 back and Marissa Netherwood swam a 7 second PB on her 200 free!

I hear there were some great attitudes from the swimmers and Ollie Harvey was noted for his fantastic turns!

Well done to everyone who swam and thank you to all of our lovely helpers Maz Eames, Tamsin Netherwood, Donna Strowger, Maria Prior, Clare & Gary Greaves and Sarah Lees.
