Our fantastic team achieved a very respectable 4th place in the First Class Learning Trophy B Team Gala.

39 swimmers aged 8-14 years represented Littlehampton Swimming Club against four other clubs at K2 in Crawley on Saturday evening.

We are still waiting for the official results so I can’t confirm PBs yet, but we saw lots of great swimming. Maz, who watched from the gallery, said that the starts and streamlining were much improved – great work!

There were first places from Daniel Fernandes, Abi Pendleton, Oliver Napier, Amber Brown, Ethan Lecuyer and Isabel Charnock. Our 8-9yr boys – Sammy, Ben, Oliver and Ashton – did the double, winning both their relays!

I could see lots of emerging talent, which always excites me! It was great to see 3 disability classified swimmers as part of the team too.

Dorking won the gala, just 1 point ahead of Atlantis. Crawley were 3rd, Littlehampton 4th and Mid Sussex Marlins 5th.

Thank you to all our lovely helpers – Judge Helen, Timekeeper Darren and Team Managers Tamsin, Ciara, Andrew and senior swimmer Abby.
