Last weekend was a busy one with swimmers competing in Aldershot, Manchester and London!

Rushmoor Royals County Qualifier

26 swimmers headed to the Garrison Pool in Aldershot for the Rushmoor Royals Long Course open meet. This was a fantastic opportunity for some doing their first long course meet and others getting some valuable long course practice in before next year’s counties. As a ‘process’ meet, it was a great place to practice skills and technique the swimmers have been working on, as well as to race against some different swimmers to usual.

Almost everyone swam PBs – far too many to mention individually! The swimmers brought home 31 medals too, with our Gold medal winners being Ashton Netherwood, Will Le Merle, Holly Brockwell, Abi Pendleton, Darragh McSporran and Ollie Iden.

Thank you to Kerry for her help team managing all weekend and to our officials Dean, Dan and Helen.

Para National Championships

Manchester Aquatics Centre was the venue for the Para National Championships which saw Georgie Howell, Caleb Grace, Marcus Harvey, Joe Greaves and Lewis Jones all in action.

Joe, Marcus and Lewis all swam great PBs. Marcus was the only swimmer in his age group and category (S14) so had to improve his entry time to win a medal, which he duly did!

S9 swimmer Lewis won a Bronze in his 100 breast at his first National Championships.

Georgie had her classification review and was reclassified S7 as she has grown! She still won Gold in the 100 breast and 200 IM, Silver in the 400 free and 50 fly; Bronze in the 100 free & 50 free in her new category.

ISA National Finals

Last, but not least, Ella Napier was in action at the London Aquatics Centre in the Independant Schools Association National Finals where she surged to a Silver Medal in her breaststroke! Fantastic!

Well done to all who competed over the weekend!
