Joe Greaves, Marcus Harvey, Georgie Howell and Lewis Jones all made the trip to Manchester Aquatics Centre for the National Para Swimming Championships last weekend. This is one of the key meets on the para swimming calendar and the first long course meet of the season for our swimmers.
Joe swam some great PBs, notably in his best freestyle events, achieving a great 583 British Disability Points in his 100 free. In the S14 disabilty category 14-17yr age group Joe finished 4th in his 200 IM and 100 breast; 6th in his 100 back, 100 free & 200 free.
Marcus was in the same disabilty & age group category as Joe, but is two years younger. He still achieved 6th places in his 200 IM, 100 breast & 100 fly; 9th in the 200 free and 10th in the 100 free & 100 back. 5 of his swims were LC PBs!
Georgie swam in the S7 category 14-17yr age group winning the 100 breast. She came 2nd in the 100 free, 200 IM & 100 back; 3rd in the 50 free.
Lewis Jones had a great meet too. He swam in the S9 category 10-13yr age group and also won the 100 breast with an 8 second PB! He came 2nd in the 100 free, 50 free & 100 back, all with good PBs too.
Well done to all of your on a great meet. With thanks to Maz, our coach and team manager.
