My photo this month comes from Horsham and the recent Atlantis Open Meet. Ella competed over two days and Nate and I found some nearby activities to entertain ourselves during the warm up! If you haven’t been some pools such as Horsham, Crawley and Portsmouth have great attractions nearby for either a post swim activity or for siblings.
It has been a busy few weeks with swimmers competing swimming across the county in open meets and Sussex League but also further afield such as Sunderland! It is always great to see the PBs in the results and I know all the work you, Sue and her team of coaches has done to help you to achieve those – well done!
Our STAG meet promises to be as exciting as always back at our ‘home’ pool of Arun (Felpham) on the 15th of July. Whilst the STAG is a great chance for you to watch your child swim I also ask you to find a job to shadow with someone else for the first time – please do step forward and ask if it is something you may want to try out even if you haven’t been formally allocated the role. These and our other galas do require your support in order to happen. I thank our coaches, helpers and officials for what is now our fourth gala we have hosted since Easter. Each year we will naturally lose help as swimmers move onto university, jobs other activities and it is much easier for you to ‘learn the ropes’ before they disappear! I myself am giving up my normal seat at the results desk to start my Timekeeper and Judge 1 Training (J1T) (but expect to be back there for our September County Qualifier Open Meet).
I hope you all have a great summer break, hope to see you at some of our ‘Summer Swimming’ (all are welcome) and see you poolside soon.
