25 Littlehampton swimmers headed to the Mountbatten Centre in Portsmouth for our first long course meet of the season. All enjoyed the meet, especially the ‘hot heats’ which created great excitement. Will Clark and Becky Smith both won bags of celebration chocolates when they won their hot heats, which of course they shared!

There were some great PBs, with several swimmers achieving county times, including our two youngest swimmers there – Freya Maynard and Daniel Houlgate.

A good 21 medal haul too: Ed Condron won Gold in the 50 back, Bronze in the 200 back; Daniel Houlgate two Silver medals in the 50 fly & 200 breast, plus Bronze in the 50 back; Freya Maynard won Gold in the 50 fly & Silver in the 100 free; Oliver Napier won 100 breast Silver; Becky Smith won 100 & 200 breast Gold and 200 & 400 IM Silver; Sammy Smith won Gold in the 200 breast, Silver in the 100 & 50 breast; finally Ella Thornburg won three Gold medals in the 200 back, 100 fly & 200 IM, Silver in the 50 back & 50 breast and Bronze in the 100 breast!

Well done to all who swam. With huge thanks to our team managers and coaches Helen Smith, Tracey Burton and Rachael McSporran. Plus Paul Houlgate and Tim Thornburg who both officiated at the meet.
