Littlehampton Swimming Club is run entirely by volunteer parents/carers of our swimmers.

So could you be our next volunteer, supporting your swimmers in their chosen sport?

We’re always looking for skills to strengthen the team. There are many roles you can get involved with. Parents of our younger swimmers might like to start slowly by shadowing a key role so that you can learn the ropes and decide if you’d like to take over the role when the current volunteer steps down.

Any time you can provide is welcome and you can give as much as you can spare. The more volunteers we have the lighter the work load for everyone. Please speak to our Help Desk on a Club night they will point you in the right direction.

Volunteer for the Coaching Team

We always require volunteers for our Coaching Team managed by our Head Coach and at iSwim, our Swim School, alongside our Head Teacher. We will fund training required to undertake roles like coaching.

Volunteer as a Team Manager

When it comes to competition we need Team Managers to support these events by looking after our swimmers and ensuring they get to their races on time.

Volunteer to Help with our Competitive Swim Meets

Our Gala Secretary arranges entries for our internal Club Galas, our home open meets, and external open meets; plus organises and manages the operations of each home event. At our meets we need Blue Shirt volunteers (anything from giving out drinks to providing IT support) and qualified officials (timekeeper, judge, starter & referee) in White Shirts. Our Workforce Coordinator can give you more advice about becoming an official. We will fund training required to undertake officiating roles.

Help with Social, the Shop, Trophies and Awards

Our Social Secretary organises fun events for everyone. Our Trophy Secretary looks after the club’s trophies awarded at the Awards Night, which the Social Secretary organises. While our LSC Kit Officer manages our Swim shop, where you can purchase Club hats, Club drinks bottles, Swim England Award badges, etc.

Streamline the Club’s Internal and External Communications

Members need to Stay Informed so we need a SpondSocial Media and Website Editor. We keep non-members informed about the club through a Press Liaison Officer, and looking for imaginative ways to support the club financially is the role of our Fundraiser.
