Last night 16 Littlehampton swimmers, along with a few of our Masters swimmers, had the privilege of taking part in the ‘Swim for Talisa’ event organised by Worthing Swimming Club Head Coach Chris Luesley.
Worthing swimmer Talisa-Mae is currently in Southampton Hospital being treated for Acute Myeloid Leukaemia. Money raised from the event will go both to the unit treating Talisa via the Teenage Cancer Trust and to support Talisa herself.
Worthing fielded 4 teams – Worthing past, Worthing, Worthing green and Worthing Black. Then there was a Susssex Masters team, a mixed Sussex Team with swimmers from Atlantis, Marlins & Eastbourne, and a Brighton team.
We fielded a mixed team of 9-18yr olds from Junior 3 Squad all the way to Performance: Abby Smith (captain), Jessie Brown, Tom Clark, Will Le Merle, Matty Smith, Amber Brown, Abi Pendleton, Daniel Fernandes, Ella Napier, Darragh McSporran, Cian McSporran, Rachel Houlgate, Trinity Feaver, Annie Burton, Oliver Napier and Daniel Houlgate.
There were 8 fun relay races:
- 48 lengths freestyle
- 48 lengths freestyle – handicap, based on race 1 results
- 48 lengths freestyle – handicap based on race 2 results
- Riding a noodle
- Push ball
- Push two balls
- Pairs holding hands
The evening was lots of fun and everyone had a great time!
Thank you all for supporting such a great cause!
